For the 4th time in 2023, lacrosse scored 20+ goals as they raced out to a big lead early in a 21-3 rout of Truett McConnell to improve to 4-2 in AAC play.

Georgetown used a balanced scoring attack in racing out to a 6-0 lead after the 1st. Maddie Brock (2), Madison Diaz, Katerina Gilbert, Maggie Byrd and Aubree Lair all found the back of the net in the 1st.

The team mindset carried into the 2nd quarter as the Tigers put 6 more on the board, from 5 different scorers once more. Faith Boa (2), Kara Brill, Diaz, Brock, and Gilbert all scored to give the Tigers a 12-1 lead at the break, and send the game into a running clock for the remainder of the day.

In the 3rd, the Tigers showed their scoring prowess even when down a player as Lair and Boa scored in the first 99 seconds, leading to an 8-goal quarter, and a 20-1 lead after 3. Katerina Gilbert added the final of her 4 goals in the 4th for the 21-3 win.

5 different Tigers tallied at least 3 goals in the game. Aubree Lair finished with 5 goals on just 6 SOG. Katerina Gilbert added an assist to her 4-goal day. Faith Boa, Maddie Brock and Madison Diaz all finished with hat tricks. Kara Brill, Melanie Wieland, and Maggie Byrd all tallied a goal each. Madison Catoggio set the table for most of the day, finishing with 5 assists. Olivia Yakel got the win in net, recording 8 saves on just 10 shots faced, a credit to the Tigers defending. Madison Haney came in for Yakel for the final 11:21 and recorded a save.

With the win, the Tigers have also clinched their spot in the AAC Tournament, starting April 20th in Waleska, GA.

Georgetown will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday against Montreat. The opening draw will take place at 1:00pm with Senior Day honors happening just prior.
