Lacrosse season ends in AAC Semifinals

Georgetown took on #4 Reinhardt for the 2nd time this season on Friday. This time the game was for a berth in the AAC Championship. Reinhardt flew out of the gates, scoring 10 goals in the 1st quarter and never looking back in a 19-6 win. The result eliminated the Tigers from the AAC Tournament and eliminated the team from NAIA Tournament contention.

Aubree Lair got the Tigers on the board just over 2 minutes into the 1st quarter, tying the game at 1. From there, Reinhardt scored the next 10 goals going into the 2nd. Maddie Brock and Madison Diaz would answer early in the 2nd to get the Tigers with 11-3, but the Eagles countered with 4 more goals to end the 1st half with a 15-3 lead.

The Eagles defense proved tough all game long, particularly in the 3rd as the Tigers could not find a way through for scoring chances. Reinhardt outscored Georgetown 3-0 in the quarter to build the lead going to the 4th.

The Tigers would get 4th quarter goals from Faith Boa, Diaz, and Katerina Gilbert, but it was too late for a rally given the 1st quarter the Eagles put up.

The Eagles finished with a 2-to-1 margin in ground balls and finished +12 in draw controls.

Georgetown will now turn its focus to the offseason and continuing to build on a strong recruiting class for 2024.
