Indiana Tech offense too much for Tigers

On a cold day at Toyota Stadium, Indiana Tech came out on fire offensively. The Warriors scored 5 times in the first 4:52 of the game and never looked back. Georgetown fought hard but could not keep up in a 20-6 loss, sending the Tigers to an 0-4 start to the season.

Indiana Tech took the opening draw and scored just 13 seconds into the game. Georgetown's Katerina Gilbert countered just 13 seconds later and the game was tied at 1 only 26 seconds into the afternoon. Melanie Wieland got Georgetown's 2nd goal at the 10:06 mark, followed by a tally from Saydee Bottoms. It got Georgetown within 5-3 with 9:44 left in the first. Indiana Tech then scored 7 of the next 8 goals in the first half to break the game open. Madison Diaz got the final Tiger goal in the first half with 5:16 to go. Georgetown trailed 12-5 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, the Warriors came out aggressive early and scored 3 times in the first 3:14 to push the margin to 15-5 and begin the automatic running clock. They added 1 more to close the quarter and shut out Georgetown in the 3rd. Katerina Gilbert scored Georgetown's last goal with 1:19 to go in the 4th.

Madison Haney saved 10 shots in goal for Georgetown as the Tigers were outshot 30-13 on the day.

The Tigers return to Toyota Stadium on Monday against Concordia (MI). The opening draw is set for 3:00pm.
