Tough night for Lacrosse vs Keiser

8th-ranked Keiser tallied 2 goals in the first 1 minute, 55 seconds and never looked back in an 18-1 win over Georgetown.

The Seahawks came out flying and attacking. In total, they scored 5 goals in the first 4:59 of the 1st quarter. Georgetown's defense finally began to settle in after the initial shock and held Keiser scoreless the rest of the quarter. The Tiger offense found opportunities hard to come by early and often, mustering just 11 shots on goal for the game.

Keiser added 4 more goals in the 2nd quarter to take a 9-0 lead to halftime. In the 3rd, the Seahawks came out aggressive early, scoring twice in the first 2:50 of the 3rd to push the lead to 11 and begin the running clock. The lead grew to 15 entering the 4th before Georgetown was finally able to get on the board as Katerina Gilbert knocked home a deflected pass from Madison Catoggio with 9:41 to go. Keiser countered with 3 more tallies for the final result.

Madison Haney fought hard in goal for the Tigers and finished with 11 saves. Turnovers also hurt the Tigers early on as GC committed 10 giveaways in the 1st half. Georgetown also came up empty-handed in 5 free position chances.

Georgetown now turns its focus to Senior Day on Saturday as Courtney Hornyak and Brookelynn Horton will be honored before the 1:00pm matchup with Ottawa (KS) at Toyota Stadium.
