Tigers make most of opportunities in 2-0 win

Georgetown College women's soccer opened the season Saturday. Not the typical season opener, but glad to be back in action. The Tigers (1-0) took advantage of the shots they had in a 2-0 win over Trinity Christian College.

GC managed just two shots all first half, but netted the second and the first was a last second player block off a corner. In the final 45 minutes, the home team missed the first made the second for all the offense it needed. The Tigers picked up the offensive intensity with six more shots in the half, keeping control of the ball and out of the possession of the Trolls (1-1).

Libby Miller started her sophomore season in fine fashion, assisting the first goal and netting the second. She found Madie Sparks just inside the 18-yard line for a beautiful slip and shot. Less than 10 minutes into the second half she found the back of the net off a perfect pass from Braelyn Gantt.

Georgetown is back in action 6 pm Feb. 16 hosting Thomas More University.
