Georgetown's offense was without Bekah Clark on Saturday night against Asbury but the defense kept the Eagles in check in a 0-0 draw at Toyota Stadium. Clark was serving a 1-match suspension for a red card she received in the 4-1 win at Midway on Wednesday night.
The Tigers offense found trouble navigating the Eagles' D all night long. Laura Beumala and Kali Settle each had a go at goal in the 12th minute. Beumala's shot was blocked while Settle's effort sailed wide left. Kendyl Rumple tried one in the 28th minute but was also blocked. Daysia Thompson tallied 3 saves in the first half.
Thompson denied 2 more Asbury chances in the first 6 minutes of the 2nd half. She made her 6th and final save in the 80th minute. By night's end, the Tigers did not muster a single shot on goal. All 6 tries were either blocked or went wide of the Asbury goal.
The Tigers have a Monday afternoon match at IU Columbus before getting into MSC play next Friday against Cumberland (TN).
