Martin, Spady lead opening round MSC win
Bailee Martin and Samantha Spady have been Georgetown's top doubles team all season long and near the top in singles. The duo proved critical in the opening round of the MSC Tourney against Freed-Hardeman in a 4-3 Tigers win.
Martin and Spady set the tone for their days early as they won together in #1 doubles, 6-0. Lydia Prince and Emma Hill continued the momentum by winning their doubles match, 6-2, to clinch the team point for the Tigers.
Bailee Martin need extra time in singles but got the job done, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-4, to put Georgetown up 2-0 overall. Spady followed in 3rd singles with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. Madelyn Gill took the court in 4th singles and won handily, 6-1, 6-4, giving Georgetown its 4th overall point and sending the Tigers into the 2nd round.
Georgetown will next take on top-seed Cumberlands on Friday, starting at 10:00AM ET in Bowling Green.
