
Tigers dominate Bears on Senior Day
Before Georgetown's matchup with Shawnee State, the Tigers took time to honor 4 seniors for all their hard work and accomplishments on and off the court. The seniors repaid the favor by leading a dominant 7-0 sweep over Shawnee State.
Seniors Maddie Gill and Lydia Prince got the Tigers going with a 6-2 win in #1 doubles. Peyton Blank and Hana Dixon also celebrated their Senior Day with a 6-1 win in doubles. Anna White and Abby Moss clinched the team point with a 6-2 triumph.
The momentum carried into singles action. Molly Archer went out in #1 singles and cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win. Maddie Gill was right behind with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Lindsey Rikkerink was in #3 singles and took care of business, 6-4, 6-1.
Lydia Prince had little trouble in her singles match as she came away with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Hana Dixon won her match by the same score. Peyton Blank rounded out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-4 win in singles.
The Tigers will look to continue the momentum on Wednesday when Cumberland comes to the Lackey Tennis Center. The action gets going at 2:00pm.
