Pollio, Tipton lead T&F at Lion Invite

Track & Field traveled to Cincinnati on Saturday to compete in the Lion Invite, hosted by Mount St. Joseph University. The Tigers finished 11th in the team scoring competition.

Liza Pollio drew the most points for the team by finishing 2nd in the 3K event with a time of 11:32.97. Pollio was one of six Tigers to place inside the top-12 of the event. Elizabeth Lavinder finished 5th with a time of 11:39.71. Rebecca Kainer ran 6th, followed by Grace White in 10th, Shelby Shepard in 11th, and Lexi Ralph in 12th.

Jenna Tipton garnered team points by running 5th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:10.83.

Phoebe Tripure was strong in the throwing events for Georgetown. She placed 12th in the weight throw with a distance of 7.17m. Tripure also placed 13th in shot put at 6.90m.

The Tigers next head to Danville, KY to compete in the Centre College Indoor Showcase next Saturday.
