Kainer leads Tigers at Centre Showcase

Women's Track & Field traveled to Centre College on Saturday for the Colonels' Indoor Showcase. Rebecca Kainer led Georgetown with 2 top-3 finishes as the Tigers finished 10th in the team standings.

Kainer finished runner-up in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:45.38. She followed that up with a 3rd place effort in the 1K race with a time of 3:20.16.

Lexi Ralph also brought home a strong finish in the 1 mile as she came around in 8th in a time of 6:06.51. She also finished 5th in the 800m with a time of 2:42.25. Jenna Tipton brought home a 13th place finish in the 400m event with a run of 1:08.88.

The Tigers had their best team success in the 5K run as 3 placed in the top-7. Liza Pollio finished 3rd in a time of 20 minutes, 11 seconds. Grace White ran 6th in 21:43, and Shelby Shepard finished 7th in 22:14.

The team now gets set for a trip to Indiana Wesleyan this coming Friday for the Wildcat Open.
