Women's Track Sixth at Mid-South Conference Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Georgetown College women's track and field team took part in the 2022 Mid-South Conference Outdoor Championships on Sunday and Monday, their final meet of the regular season. The Tigers turned in a solid performance, narrowly missing out on a top-five team performance.

Georgetown finished sixth in the meet, just one point out of fifth with a team total of 73 points.

The 4x800-meter relay team got things started with a seventh-place finish in the relay to get a pair of points. Lauren Jackson got it started on the field with a second place finish in the pole vault, and a pair of Tigers - Myah Menfee and Jalynn Landversicht finished fifth and sixth in the javelin to wrap up Sunday's action.

On Monday, The Tigers 4x100-meter relay team nabbed a fifth place finish to start the day, and Sarah Bolton (3rd) and Menfee (7th) each scored in the 100-meter hurdles. Madelyn Waltmon crossed the line in fourth in the 800-meter run, and the Tigers' 4x400-meter relay team finished fifth to round out the Georgetown scoring performances on the track.

Landversicht and Bolton finished third and fourth, respectively in the high jump, and Kaylee Dee Long nabbed a sixth-place finish in the Discus throw.

In the heptathlon, the Tigers posted a 1-2 finish, with Bolton claiming the Conference title, and Menfee finishing second. Bolton currently sits in 15th in the NAIA In the heptathlon, and she has met the minimum score to qualify for the NAIA National Championship. She must now wait to see if her mark holds in the top-16 nationally to see if she will qualify to compete at the National Championships.
