Two Tigers Compete at NAIA National Championships

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The Georgetown College athletic season came to a close on Friday afternoon when the final two Georgetown athletes competed in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Sarah Bolton and Jalynn Landversicht each qualified for the NAIA Championships in the high jump, and Bolton was also one of the athletes to post a qualifying mark in the heptathlon.

Bolton elected to not compete in the high jump, choosing instead to focus on the Heptathlon. She started the competition with a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 26.38 seconds which was good enough for a total of 764 points. She added a ninth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.02 / 839 pts). In the high jump, she posted her best event finish with a 3rd-place mark of 1.64 meters (783 pts), and when the dust settled, she had a final total of 4,369 points, missing out by a single point on breaking her own Georgetown program record in the event.

In the high jump, Landversicht cleared the opening height of 1.59 meters on her second attempt, but she missed on all three attempts at 1.64 meters - also narrowly missing out on her best mark of the season.

The two were the final competitors to don the Orange and Black during the 2021-22 season, and both have eligibility to return in 2022-23.
