Geary, Team smash 6K school records at IWU Twilight

Kirsten Geary was named to the Mid-South Conference preseason watch list as an athlete expected to have a major impact on her team this year. Geary delivered on the honor at the Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invite on Friday by running the 6K in the fastest time in program history. As a team, the average time of 24:51, which also smashed the school record previously held by the 2015 team at the Queen City Invite. That group averaged a time of 27:30.

Geary ran the race in a blazing 22 minutes, 40 seconds which broke the record by 1 minute, 26 seconds. The record was previously held by Tayler Godar, who ran a 24:06 at the 2015 Queen City Invite. Geary was also named the Mid-South Conference Women's Runner of the Week. The time placed her 7th out of a field of 134 runners in an event that featured 4 of the top-17 ranked teams in the NAIA.

5 other Tigers also showed out at the event to place in the top-10 all-time in program history. Clare Wilber is now 4th. Eden Brumer is 5th. Isabel Wilber now tallies the 6th fastest time, while Lexus Ralph and Riley Davis sit 8th and 9th, respectively.
