Women's Soccer dominates Bluefield

Georgetown's stay in West Virginia over the last 48 hours proved to be a dominant one. After a 5-0 win at West Virginia Tech on Thursday, the Tigers did one better at Bluefield on Friday by routing the Rams, 6-0, to improve to 2-0-0 on the campaign.

The Tigers offense came aggressive in the first half, looking to make quick work of the Rams back line. Nicole Alig broke through in the 11th minute with the 1st of her 2 first-half goals. Kylie Hudgins continued her hot start to the year with her 2nd goal of the season in the 35th minute, giving GC a 2-0 lead. Alig was not to be outshined as she tallied her 2nd just 86 seconds later, giving Georgetown a 3-0 lead that would carry to the half. In total, the Tigers outshot Bluefield 19-4 in the 1st half, with 11 of those shots going on goal.

Loren Moran made it a 4-0 Tiger lead in the 59th minute. As the team did on Thursday, they turned the scoring party over to the newcomers. Freshmen Morgan Imhoff and Libby West each scored their first collegiate goals in the 77th and 80th minutes respectively, leaving no doubt as to which team would come out on top, resulting in the 6-0 win.

The defending was also exquisite once again. Daysia Thompson only had to record 1 save on the night. Bluefield mustered just 6 total shots in the 90 minutes.

Georgetown will go for 3 straight when they make their 2023 home debut against Berea on Tuesday night. Kickoff at Toyota Stadium is set for 7:00pm.
