Tigers light up scoreboard in romp of Berea

Georgetown entered its 3rd match of the 2023 campaign with 11 goals scored. They nearly doubled that on Tuesday night. The Tigers scored 9 times in a shutout win over Berea College. The tally was the most for the program since 2019 (13 vs Rio Grande).

Kylie Hudgins got things started just 38 seconds in with a shot near the post that slipped by the Berea keeper. Olga Coto was next up in the 26th minute, giving GC a 2-0 lead. Kendyl Rumple was not to be forgotten as she scored just 28 seconds after Coto and officially opened the flood gates. 

Carson Smith scored the first of 2 goals in the 29th minute. She also assisted on the Hudgins and Coto goals in the first half. Smith would add her 2nd in the 57th minute.

Cadence Flamm and Cleo Wells tallied goals in the 33rd and 55th minutes, respectively. Laura Beumala laced 2 stellar goals from distance in the 70th and 72nd minutes to finalize the scoring on the night.

In total, Georgetown outshot Berea 33-5, including a 20-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Tigers also garnered 9 corner chances, compared to 1 for the Mountaineers.

The Tigers stay home on Saturday, September 2nd as they take on Union with a 6:00pm kickoff.
